erasing scores?

Any way to get rid of a score after submitting? I ask b/c I have alot of Anomalous scores (Unfairly most of my 'mods' give the AI the same perks I do) and a few really low ones I'm embarassed by now.

ps, the game really should tell you before you submit if it'll be considered Anomalous or not.

I don't think there is anything you could do about them, Darkhold as they are a result of mods rather than bugs.

You may feel that mods are neutral per se but it is possible that the AIs are not programmed to make use of them as well as you could. Regardless, Stardock has decided to set some limits on mods for those interested to post scores on the Metaverse.

What you could possibly do is to retrieve the savegame if you have one right from the start and then replay it using an unmodded game installation and resubmit it. You have one chance at doing that.

BTW, want to consider joining the Fellowship? :)

Ray,
Thanks for the fast response. Any particular reason to join the empires? I'm fairly indifferent to if I'm on a winning team or not so is it purely that or more of a community type deal? (sorry if I sound a little incoherant I'm running off about 5 hours of sleep this week)

The Fellowship tries to do four things.

1) Contribute to the game/forum
2) Discuss strategy
3) Fantasy role-play if you like it
4) Friendly competition on the Metaverse.

You don't have to like all four but whichever suits your fancy. We have a variety of folks in the Fellowship including HawaiiFive-O, our resident modder/event writer author (cause it seems you mod).

I joined because I liked thier little picture of the 'golden spaceship'. Strangly it reminds me of something I've seen somewhere else before? I just can't put a finger on it . . . mmm.

Butt seriously, some of those mods look so attractive but I'm just too scared they'll cause me similar problems to what your experiencing Darkhold. I'd image once the Beta (expansion) is completed issues like this will be address . . .

Darkhold. Have your mods that you have been submitted for approval?

Some of the mods are in fact approved and won't give you ye olde anomoly. And most uninstall quite easily if need be.

But yes, I agree there should be something to tell you. This game is anomolous, don't submit it before you submit it. Especially since this site does have mods on it. I know they say use at own risk but... Sometimes it's tough to know oops I still had that mod installed.

There are certain triggers that if triggered will get you that anomoly even with no mods. But most of those have been cleared up.

As far as getting your scores removed, I'd suggest an email to stardock detailing how you got em, and stuff and see what they can do? All they can say is no. So you're no worse off than you are now.

Would this email be directed to anywhere particular in Stardock or just general tech support?

You can try sending your savegame to Cari cbeagle@stardock.com together with a description of any mods that you have used.

That's what EBZ did to get his unmoded anomalous score deleted.

Brad took care of mine when I got one. But scott can handle it too. I usually get into the chat #stardock on irc and talk with em if they are there though. It's usually quicker and they have a heads up that you're sending something.

Ice also you can try and resubmit the game. Sometimes games have given the big zero on submission, then 3 minutes later gone through perfectly fine with score.

Darkhold I would say your anomalous score is probably high PQ mods. You can either get rid of them or write a proper PQ mod using GC writer.
I got all those PQ mod posted on library. But some of them tends to give you way too much PQ so I erased them all and wrote my own Genesis PQ mod. It works fine.
Anomalous still gives you some points(about half of what you would've gotten but hey it's score... LOL )
I got lots of mod all of them works fine and gives you correct metaverse score. I only had a problem with high PQ mod.

Personally, I would just dump all the mods. I like the concept of mods, but until someone officially certifies them as safe, then they are potential anomolies waiting to happen. Then you have to plead with the powers-that-be to remove the bad scores. So I would wait for some kind of seal of approval. (Hint: Galciv people, just tell us which mods are safe or not. Recruit some players or whatever to test them with, just give us a sure sign!)

Well I give up. Anytime I win early (around 6000 points) it'll let me have it. If I wait until I have around 10,000 it goes bad. I guess I'll just have to say bye to submitting them. I've taken out every mod except two changes I made to the tech tree allowing earlier acess to Battleships (I like to fight) and one that allows for faster colony transports (I hate waiting a million turns watching them creep around)the game isn't as fun without those changes so I might as well just enjoy my game and not worry about scores.

Well, choosing fun over score is the better decision. Enjoy your game!

People say I'm too aggressive but would just like to say that if you want to be part of a community where we swap war stories, do consider joining us even if you don't submit any scores. Cheers.

I personally am interested in the strats you use to win Maso. Do share with us in the strategy forum if you can. Thanks.
