Top 5 things I miss and like

1 Easy Levels should be easy,
just finshed and OS/2 game, all active civalizations had min. technology and or 4 or 5 star systems when I found them.

2 Easy to scroll to text boxes. When I micromanage 15 or 20 star systems it takes to mach work to see what is happening in each system.

3 Need better auto pilot tracing systems. I have find no map showing where each ship is going.

4 Have better planets come up for Humans. On the OS/2 version it was posible to get a strong star sytem to start with. Alien's always get strong home planets.

5 I do not like the new story that Humans branch out from Earth. Why? I doubt we will every go to Mars never mind local star systems. It just is not economical.

The top 5 things I like about the Windows Version.
I can not think of anything yet.

Thanks for the feedback. Here's some thoughts.

1) I agree. Just remember it took years to get the OS/2 version balanced like that. We'll have it balanced by release.

2) Could you explain more what you mean? I do have a big complaint with the planet lists being extremely inefficient.

3) Not implemented yet.

4) This is going to get tweaked.

5) The net result is the same. I disagree with regards to whether it's economical or not. Mars isn't economical because it's a dead world. But if we could send ships to other star systems in 2 or 3 months where there were earth like planets, I have no doubt we would.

To explain 2 alittle farther,
The Text Boxes I browsed planets from,

Had a format of something like

Planet Name, Population, Social Project, Military Project, approval
With a scroll bar on the side of the box I could quickly scroll down through the planet make sure all my planets were happy and building something.

All I have now is row of planets on the side which I have to click through one by one.

If I needed to build something double clicking would zoom me directly to the planet. Where I could start building a project or remove some population.

As per 5) there is two problems first the planet Earth is not unified and one nation would be hard pressed to have the need resource, and then there is relativity both of which I am willing to overlook. The game is Science Fiction but in the old game at least Humanity has a reason to explore the Galaxy they were dropped in
they wanted to find a way home. The old plot allowed for a third way to end the game buy researching and developing technology so that Humanity could go back.

Since I can not win with the Beta I assime you win the game through domination or unification only.

It seems that games have made the easy level the old normal or even in games like AoW2 the hard level. I do not understand this. Easy should mean just that, you can not lose at easy level if you have any ability to follow the game. I play some games at the impossible setting, that is what the higher levels are for, to increase the challenge. You wil lose players if they get whacked on easy levels.

Technician,

Per 5). You are thinking in current terms; technology, economics, world population, politics, public opinion, etc.. One of the great imponderables is what changes will occur over the years. As they often say, "The only constant in the universe is change."

Cheers,
Jack

Technician, your wish is my command. We've added a new planet list to be put into beta 2 that will be close to your design.
