Hi all
Just a quick note to say that we're going public beta with dotWidget R0.8 very soon and are currently looking for invdividuals who'd like to try out a closed beta of it now. All you need to do is drop me an email to stan.k23-at-gmail-dot-com and I'll get you on the beta testers list.
More information can be found at our site (Link) but for those of you who're not aware of dotWidget, here are some of it's features over other widget apps:
o Completely free
o Open source
o Doesn't require large framework downloads (e.g. .net) to run
o Unique 'gripper' allows easy positioning and access to each widget
For those of you who know of dotWidget, here's some of what's gone into R0.8:
o Completely new GDI+-based backend
o Full compatability with R0.6 widgets
o Host of new script-friendly objects (weather forecast, mail checking, rss feeds, etc.) - all run completely asynchronously
o Colourising, brightness, greyscaling of any image
o Rock-solid environment - new debug console replaces messagebox warnings
o Easy-to-use non-blocking credential and input dialogs
o New gripper functionality - more intuitive and better defined model
o Tons of new widgets - process info, picture viewer, new weather forecast, to name but a few
o ...and plenty more!
