Autopilot

Sometimes when I send a colony ship to a planet on autopilot, the ship shows that it is on autopilot but it won't go to the destination. Also when I press the 'FIND' button, those ships can't be found. I always have to search for them by hand, cancel autopilot and send them again. Since 'FIND' won't find the ship, autoturn doesn't work either until you find the ship.

At this moment I can't find a way to repeat it but it happens occasionaly ...

The theory so far is that it happens when you have accidently aimed on an area that has a system or anomaly under the undiscovered part of a map. I thought that it was corrected by now tho, since it's an old bug.

Raf,
The FIND button should not select a ship on autopilot. Another way of finding
a ship is to use the ship list. If you select a ship that is not orbitting a star the
screen will center on the ship.

Well, even if it's orbiting, it'll center on the planet that it's in.

Hmm...it's supposed to cancel the autopilot if you select an invalid destination...so it may be a variation on the problem...

The problem I had was not that I couldn't find the ship on autopilot but that autoturn wouldn't work until I found the ship and disabled autopilot. Only after I sent that ship on autopilot again, autoturn would work...

I've seen this as well. Autopilot also fails to work when the Turn button doesn't work correctly. Wonder if it's related somehow.

i.e. Click Turn and nothing happens, Turn button goes blank but thats it. Clicking on the star map (other than the area already shown) brings the turn back but the autopilot failed
