Help with AP 1.49c[b].002

Version: 1.49C[b].002 - I screwed up and can't seem to find a fix.

Download and install and played AP for a day, and then had to "restore" my system to a prior config. The most recent GC works great, but AP goes black after trying to launch.

After trying to re-install from a archive, I still have the same problem. I might have a corrupted file in AP some where and the archive.

How do I access a Prior Build of AP, so I can restart the download, or how do I get a clean download off of Stardock? It keeps reinstalling my local archive and not download a new copy off the server.

Hope I made sense.

Mike

Mike,

I do not want you to think we are ignoring you.

It is Sunday but I am sure the Stardock people will be able to help you out.

I would not want to give you incorrect information but I would think if you uninstalled AP by SD central, you would latter be able to reinstall.

Hi Technician,

Thanks for the replay.

That's what I thought, AP would show up in SD as a new install. Reinstalling SD now.

Heck of a game. Well deserved in be in any TOP ten list. And your Community relations should be a model for other developers to follow.

Spending WAY to much time on the mod end of things, while I wait to figure this out :).

NP, No one should work on the weekends if it's possible. Believe me I know..

reinstalled SD and GC.

AP does now show up in SD,but as a "download" not install. The Download button doesn't work thou.

Also the title listings in SD, are grabbled, seems half my sign in information is being listed.

Good Morning,

Monday's are always a pain for everybody catching up on the weekend mail and such.

NP here, the GC folks have been great to me. My signed copy of GC sits nicely next to my game signature collection. Hope to had AP when it goes gold also.

Have GC running fine with all my moddling fun. Seems to be a limited on improvements - after a hundred or so the building que throws some strange numbers in to name of the improvement.

400 techs and counting, doesn't seem to be a limited.

Missing the scn and mapping editors of AP right now :).

Will check back later. Have my own forum posting to do.

Michael,

Ugh, that sounds like something is seriously messed up either in your registry or with SDC, if you're getting garbled listings.

I'm notifying Nakor about this, as he should be better able to help you than me.

Please email kwilas@stardock.com a screenshot of the SDC and \program files\stardock\sdcentral\login.txt.

I've got to ask just to clarify it for myself, Technician, and please don't take this the wrong way - are you an employee of Stardock?

He wouldn't have the rank of citizen if he was. Stardock employees have their own ranks; Senator, Governor and Avatar being what I've seen so far. And they have a Stardock icon at the bottom of their posts.

No problems, but I hope you can see why I asked.

I also thought that perhaps because of the wincustomize hack a while ago that not all ranks might have been restored.

Thanks for the help, and sorry for wasting your time.

I Believe the problem was my SD account was expired. All is good now.

Love the map editor, finally I get my custom maps with tons of Stars. Thou it is making for a very very long and very enjoyable game.

For my fan request:) .. The in game tech tree is awesome and displaying new mods is nice.

A way to print a full tech tree (including Mods) would imo be a value tool to troubleshoot and tweak custom mods.

Right now the easiest way to do this is to load the files in a text editor and print them, which isn't much of a solution. I'm working on an OpenOffice macro to read them in and create a sorted Calc sheet, but that has other issues (such as the need to download a 60 MB office suite).
