Empire profile and Metaverse scores do not match

Profile scores "age" more quickly than meta scores - hence are generally lower than the meta score.

Thats a slightly cryptic repsonse...ive got a similar problem tho;

I tallied my individual metaverse scores (only 3 games so far so its quite easy:) ) and got 25386, yet my ranking shows me on roughly 14000 points.

It's set to overall score on the search options, is there some other crafty mathematical operator at work here, or is the metaverse inaccurate??

The scores are chunked into 30-day blocks, then each block is figured by totalling the scores and dividing by the square root of the number of games. There is also some aging that figures in to make old scores worth less than new ones.

This makes for an even bigger difference later on, when you can have a total score in the millions, but a meta score of only in the hundred thousands

OK - scores are blocked into months for the first six months; each block is totalled and divided by the square root of the number of games, and is then "aged" - decreased by 5% per full month old for meta scores and 10% per full month old for profile/empire scores. After six months it changes a bit (blocks are 70 days??)

25386/sqrt(3) = 14657

According to T-Man they should both be the same. There is however a 'glitch' on the scoring system that causes the points difference. As it is not a major problem it has been at the end of a long list of minor glitches for a long time and due to the workload T-Man has, is likely to stay there for some time
