an ode to snow

Damn you snow!
You suck
When it’s time to go
It’s all muck

When I was a small kid
You were so fun
Though my truck may skid
Now I must run

Skidding this way and that
By foot I must go
Though I don’t have a hat
It continues to snow!

You in Maryland? Cause I'm waiting for it too.

My friend left here today to drive up to Maryland, he's been an hour behind the storm the whole way.

I wish I had snow. I am in Tennesee, home of the free hicks, and all we get is ice, about one a month. I am so sick of school. Send some to the south. Besides, as a yankee, it is very amusing to see southerners deal with snow. They run to the grocery store, buy it out, drive home like crazy people, and sit and huddle over a fire with one inch of snow and a bit of ice that is gone in 15 minutes! Send snow! :)

Glorious snow, please stay at North
Keep the snowbird from flying south
driving too slow or looking at the crowds
weird snowbirds that think that they owe
all the streets of my small town
please dear snow keep their planes on the ground
sweet and graceful snow clog their driveways
so the cars cannot go to the airport
and fly down here to the South.
I cannot go waltmarking because the store is packed
with people from the North that want to buy
the ears of Mickey Mouse.
Please dear snow keep their planes a ground.
Fill their streets with ice and wind and slid and blizzards.

Your dear friend Baba the cuban redneck.

Snow is fun... when it's somebody ELSE'S! (I hate shoveling my 200 feet of sidewalk in front of my house.)

What are you talking about? Schools closed early due to the snow in Nashville today - we had a steady fall for a whole 25 minutes! That's a BLIZZARD down here!

Of course, it burned off before it hit the ground...

Moved down here from Chicago about a year ago. My first morning in town, the TV newscasts headlined "Weather Watch 2003!" Schools closed early, traffic accidents...for 1/8" of snow (about 3mm).

Everything is relative...

Well, we've gotten almost 14 inches of snow in the storm that hit us this weekend. And it's supposed to get up to a balmy -17 Fahrenheit (thats -27 for those of you who like Celsius) for the high temperature tommorow. :p

I hate snow, but it can serve a purpose occasionally. Today my database design (ugh) class was cancelled because of it. Woohoo! More time for GalCiv. :D Only a few turns away from Battleships, and then it will be time to rain some doom down upon the filthy heads of my doomed enemies!! >:(
