detecting destabilization?

in the past few games i've played, i've noticed my moral taking a HUGE hit, i finally realized it was due to another race destabilizating me, but i couldn't tell which. it was a fairly major decrease, was constantly below 60, even at 0% tax rate. how do i figure out who it is short of destroying them one by one?

This is the one thing I have not liked abot GC, is how morale is a mystery. If the game could give me one refinment it would be how morale is portrayed to us. I just don't like the guessing, maybe it is population, maybe it is cultural, maybe it is they just do not like me.

To answer your question, if the game supports it I would spend espionage points on all the civ's. At one of the levels you should get feedback as to who is doing it to you. I have seen pop-ups in my games telling me other civs are destabilizing other civs and I have been doing espionage on them so maybe this would work for you. Are you currently already doing this?

Ditto, spending on espinoage will give you a message eventually of who's backstabbing you . . . unfortunately its easy to miss this message, I've done that many times as I click, click, click away . . . there should be a log (appart from the UN one) that you can lookup to see if you've missed galactic news and other popups in the game . . . mmm log.

Log would be a good idea! Shouldn't be that hard to put in either.

The log could also act as a list of who owns what Trade Goods/Wonders which several of us have wanted for a while! ;)

Frogboy, CariElf:

Can we have this pretty please? Or what about making the lower right section not clear and put in a scroll bar?

they NEVER tell who is destabilising me (:(
and I do not click away, I'm still young and inexperienced !

well, i solved it in a rather roundabout way, there was only one race who was below neutral to me, so i started a war of attrition on him. i bribed all the other civs to attack him, and started destabilizing him myself. in a year or so i started gaining moral again. i just finished the game with a good 6 trillion people, unfortunately there was a few mods that made it anomolous, is there a person we can talk to about looking at it? i think the problem was ship movement, i got a +1 random event early on, and then the UN choice that raised all constructors by another 7.

Are you looking for an empire to join, come and join the Empire of The Light, only good and neutral alignment. ;)

HercMighty,

Actually, it only clears events that do show up there after 3 turns, and there is a scrollbar when it has enough to need one.

I could maybe write the popup messages to a log file so that I wouldn't have to keep it in memory, and even if I didn't have the time to do the whole thing, you could at least have the file.  I'll bring it up at our meeting today.

One day I spent several hundred bc on destabilising the Yor Collective and their morale didn't seem to be affected. How come?

You can fight destabililzation with propaganda and by purchasing social projects with morale boosts.
