Tell me how galciv shocked you!

I'd really love to hear some stories about what you're biggest surprises were in playing galciv... those moments when the computer came up with something you hadn't exspected at all.
For me, it was during my first game (medium, sub-normal) when I was going for cultural domination pretty easy. I allready controlled about 80% and was getting bored, just tried to end it as fast as possible, 100% military, one constructor after the other, nothing can stop me, raise taxes another time - and boom! My empire splits into two, the rebels taking some of my most important systems, and with much of my power gone, the other AIs suddenly rise again and the game which I thought was over just began.
That was the moment I really started to love galciv and at 4 AM I finally managed to win the first "easy" game (of cause I had to work the next day...)
