Well there's only 10 more days left in January and Firefox has ONE skin in that section. Suffice to say, it's not a section that's in demand it appears.

Barring a miracle, on Feb 1 it's no longer going to be displayed on the site by default (the section won't be removed but it will no longer show up).  It'll go with Beatnik and KewlPad and other programs whose skins aren't heavily in demand.

Nothing against WickedP but this is not a good Firefox Theme compared to the ones at Link

As for your comments on Firefox Csurfside/Doodle Hunter,there is a world of difference between Firefox and Crazy Browser. Crazy Browser is a dressed up version of IE where Firefox is a open-source browser that doesn't rely on IE to run it.

Personally I don't think a months time on the list is enough, especially considering there wasn't any advanced notice that it was going to appear.

So the Firefox skinners weren't interested in skinning it until it got a section here? Sorry, but that makes no sense to me. If I like to skin something, it doesn't matter if WC has a library for the app or not, I'll be skinning it. Seems to me, all those requesting a FF library, should have been working on skins whether one was added or not...... my .02cents.....

I agree 100% with Koasati. Though it's included in the ObjectDock libary, every opportunity I see, I'm trying to get ObjectDock Backgrounds separated from the rest of the library, much like DX has a separate widget library, so that zoomer backgrounds and tabbed backgrounds get better exposure instead of being buried underneath an avalanche of icons. Still hasn't happened and yet I'm still making them.

I really wish they would seperate them. That would make one bug difference.

I think in the object dock library being able to hit that checkbox that says "show dock backgrounds" seems like enough.

Takes four clicks....to get to the backgrounds...only one to see the whole library. ...but I'll stop hijacking this thread.

Frogboy, I have been lobbying around for this for some time. Why don't you put a RSS feed for the WC sections? Only showing the section name, and number of new skins. You won't have to waste space (if you call that waste) in the site, and we'll all be happy.
BTW, which browser do YOU use?

To hijack it some more, I liked it better when the checkbox listing was always there and all it took was hitting the one you wanted and going. But I think if backgrounds got seperated, so should docklets, animated icons, stuff like that.

My main interest in keeping the Firefox skin section visible is because I enjoy how WC has things setup. Its one of the great weaknesses with the mozilla update site. The skins are poorly displayed. I've also found that the skins don't always download easily from there.
However as long the section is still accessible, it won't be a great loss, though less likely to have new updates I guess.

Nothing is being gotten rid of. It just wont be visible in the skin category list until you hit More at the bottom.

I thinjk the reason most of us wanted a FireFox theme section here is not because firefox themes couldn't be found elsewhere, but because we wanted firefox themes that matched the themes that skinners here were making. Many of the skinners here have been focusing on the software packages which this site caters to, which until now, did not included FireFox. Closing the FireFox section so soon after its opening would simply discourage any of the WC skinners from adding those types of skins to their portfolios.

The problem is, firefox is not as easy to skin as some things. The demand is there, and the skinners, at least some of them, are learning how to create these skins. Unfortunately, that does not happen overnight. I would think that as a software developer, Brad, you would know that.

The section is NOT GOING TO BE CLOSED. Its going to be HIDDEN from immediate public view until more skins are in it. You will STILL BE ABLE TO GET TO IT. You'll just have to click the "More" button at the bottom of the category list, or else go to the Gallery tab.

Exactly.

We don't remove sections. We just don't highlight them on the main list. Users have to click the "more" to get to them.

ObjectBar, our own product, isn't on the main list right now. And it actualy gets skins made for it.
