What are You Hoping 2005 Will Bring?

Some of my thoughts for my new year to come

I just can't believe we are knocking on 2005's door already!  It truly seems everyone was just all worked up about Y2K.  I had my last baby in 2000 so I see the passing of time in no uncertain terms when I look at him.

2004 was a very good year.  Lots of fun times were spent with family and friends.  Everyone in our family was in pretty good health.  I am certainly hoping for more of the same for 2005.

I guess my main hopes for 2005 are more time with family and friends, maybe a couple of good vacations to relax with my hubby and kids, maybe a new addition to the family (nothing being done about that at the moment though), and less stress for my husband.  Of course I hope that 2005 brings a more peaceful existance throughout the world.

I hope I do more reading, cooking and exercising.  I hope my kids continue to enjoy school.  I hope my husband finds new projects to be excited about for work.  And I hope to continue having a good time blogging on JU.

Best wishes for the New Year!

I am hoping to move to AZ where my wife is, get a new job, and see a free and democratic Iraq.

All wonderful things to hope for greywar!  Hope they all come to pass in 2005.  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours.

Peace....REAL PEACE...not just talks of it.

I don't really beleive this is possible so I don't usualy say that I wish for it. While it is a noble sentiment I will only beleive it is feasible when we have advanced far enough that you can pick 10 random UT students and get them to unanimously agree on which restaurant to have lunch at. When we can accomplish the simple stuff I will start beleiving that folks will stop fighting without being held to it by force of arms.

*edit: Sorry Deeppak Chopra got my blood a boling today. My apologies for a negative posting on a postive thread:)

No apology neccessary especially since I agree.  Let's talk smaller steps like hoping for successful elections in Iraq.  Nice sentiment though Mano.

My hope for 2005, on a worldview level, I too echo the sentiment that there would be more peace, but that as Greywar said, "is a noble sentiment". So, I'll settle for people showing goodwill towards each other. Every bit of kindness and goodwill helps.

On a personal level, oh, lots of things. But most important to me, that my children, my husband and myself stay healthy. That we realize some of our dreams and goals. That my children continue to stay focus and do well in school. That my 15 year old continues to share her thoughts with me. And also, and this might be an impossible one, that I don't go to anymore funerals in 2005. A bit morbid, but I'm all taxed out, my uncle, my mom, my aunt, and just this past monday, another Aunt passed.

At any rate Jill, Happy New Year to you when it arrives.

Wow! Way more loss than anyone deserves in even a few years.  I certainly hope you suffer no more losses in 2005 and that your hopes for your family become fulfilled.  Best wishes.

I'm looking forward to seeing my daughter grow even more: emotionally, physically, intellectually and spiritually... good times with friends and family, and maybe a little more in the love department. Hell... I don't want much, do I?
Good luck to you and your family!

And I hope to continue having a good time blogging on JU.

Best wishes for the New Year!  I'm with you here. I hope '05 passes without hurricanes, and a year of peace in Iraq and Palestine.
