Bug in 1.04 beta?

Anyone experienced anything broken with the new beta? I just played my first game with it, and very early on in the game the Arceans somehow had a *major* cultural advantage...so much so that the first two or three colonies I created never became blue in influence, but immediately went to yellow for the Arceans. A look at their planets reveals nothing unusual...in some cases my planets have either the same or higher influence, but nonetheless the sector is yellow...and so strong that planets are beginning to defect. I dunno if this is a bug or not, but I have never had this happen before. Anyone else had similar experience?

Okay...after analyzing and playing a few more starts, it appears that things are working fine. But, it appears that the *slight* difficulty increase is a bit more than slightly pronounced on higher dificulty levels. Prior to 1.04, had no problems with Bright AI or lower...now, with Bright AI, I am in last place...a very solid last place, but last place all the same...and that's with a good starting position. I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has noticed this difficulty increase.

And I thought the game was hard before... :(

Just installed StarDock central and now am wondering what you are talking about since 1.03A.057 is the newest version available there.

I can read but I don't get what you'r talking about. I legally puchased my copy of Galciv!
I don't want to know anything more but how this guy downloaded the 1.04 Beta!
I think the drengin.net works as it should but it does not display newer updates than 1.03A.057!

People who have purchused the drengin.net option are allowed to download the beta upgrades. Frogboy has a thread that I believe is "sticky" that explains the whole process.

A drengin.net subscription is a step above just having Galciv. It entitles you to, not only Galciv, all the other games Stardock have or are making for a year and a half. This includes access to the betas. With only Galciv purchased, you only have access to Galciv. So you won't see anthing about betas on there.
