Any other women out there?

Seems like the forums (and empires) are dominated by men. Wondering if there were any other females floating around.

If there are, come join the MWC empire. :-D

That's a blokey sort of empire to be knocking around in.

The ANZACs actually have several female members: they're the ones with the very Good faces.

Why Qui-Gon Jinn (try and say that quickly) I do believe you have turned to the Dark Side of the Force.

They should start an Amazon empire.

I swear I had the exact same thought and empire name for them.

That would be really cool, a female-only theme empire.

I don't think there are ENOUGH females playing this game to start up an all-female empire. But hey, if there are, shout out here! :)

As for MWC, the empire looked like it had a nice group of people, and they needed a feminine touch interjected into them. ;)

I'll just spare you the comment on females interjecting into males. HMMMMM.

But I think an all female empire would be great. Who care's if you're in first or not?

Here's some cute names I thought up.

The Amazons.
The Cherry 2000's (a very bad sci fi melanie griffith movie.)
Hillary's Heathens
The Oxygen empire.
The Dr. Phil is Oprah's Playtoy empire.
The enquirer empire.
The Elerian Babes Empire
The Siren empire.

Well, an empire with one or two people in it isn't very much fun. :notsure:

I suppose by the swiftness that this thread is sinking to the bottom of the board that there really aren't many (any?) women reading these forums!!!

I am

not a woman. But I hear they do exsist in the gameing universe in rare instances. Haha, actually it seems like a lot more Ladies are getting into games now days witch is good I think.

Now if I can just get my wife to understand gaming interests then I'm set. She does like 3d Monopoly and online reversi though :CONGRAT:

I got hooked with Atari and Zork way back when I was a child, and I haven't looked back since. :)

I do usually get weird looks at work when talking about gaming (from the other gals), and I work in IT.

Games like Galciv are good food for the brain.

Ahhh Jordan just go for it. come up with a good name, HEHE why I bet you could get plenty of sex starved geeks in the empire too if you called it the amazons. But only women would be in your senate and dominate. Although heck, they have something in real life like where women dominate like that. It's called marriage. HEHE.

Heck just go for it. If it doesn't work out you can always go back to where you were. Later.

I'm female, and I'm one of the developers. :)

I'm a programmer/developer. Nothing fun like programming computer games though. :(

CariElf, what language did you guys use for Galciv?

Amazing how you can mention the word "female" and your post gets more replies than most other questions. Females could easily rule this (and any other) galaxy.

We used C/C++, DirectX, and flex and bison (for parsing).

We're looking for another developer, Jordan. :) Of course, you'd have to move to MI.

It might be worth it to work for a gaming company! I code in C++ (and some actual C too) right now. I've done perl, java (java certified) and C# too, and lots of db junk though I really prefer C++ to all of the others. Perl's just ugly, but we just use that for writing testing scripts, so I don't have to deal with it too much.

I showed some of my female friends this board and your thread. All of them called me a geek.

So I guess that's a "No."

What's wrong with being a geek? :HOT:

We just make more money than other people and they are jealous! ;)

Since there was a thread on women, I thought I just HAD to answer SOMETHING. Now it's done.

Besides, I sadly didn't ever met any girl really playing games... Maybe if it was created in the metaverse we would see a few joining. Perhaps it's worth testing... :p
