Can WindowBlinds do this?

I'm a newcomer to WXP from various other platforms. I paid for StyleXP in the hope that it would make things tolerable for me, but it is junked. Amazingly, the StarDock site never says what WindowBlinds can actually do!

Here's what I want to do:

move the window buttons over to the left side
move the menubar to the top of the monitor
change the desktop picture randomly among entries in a folder
make the window borders thin or non-existant
make window backgrounds translucent (or contain an image)
separately make the titlebar and scrollbar translucent
give me double scrollbars at both top and bottom
animate the windowtitle when an alert is due (click to show)
have translucent menus and everything shadowed
have the right-click menu appear after holding the left button for a while
unfocused windows change translucency

Can WindowBlinds or sibling programs do this?

I don't need to change the bar at the bottom (whatever it is called), nor icons or such. I will be running no Microsoft applications if that matters. Instead, I'll run Mathematica, Framemaker, Emacs, WordPerfect, FireFox/Thunderbird and possibly GoLive. Possibly an outliner if I can find one.

WB can do most of the things you said, but for the transparencies and shadows you will need a different program. Windowblinds has a transparency plugin, but you have to set the level of transparency yourself. Alternatively, you can get a program called WindowFX, also made by Stardock that can do most of the things you asked for dealing with transparency and shadows...plus all it's other features. That will leave you with double scrollbars and random desktop images. Not too bad, huh?

There must be another utility to change desktop pictures.

What did you mean, CerebroJD, when you said I can move the menubar to the top of the desktop like Mac and optionally with KDE.

Looks like I need to buy the whole objectdesk, huh?

That would be your best option ted.

What I meant was that you can have the "normal" taskbar wherever you want, and have a duplicate (made using ObjectBar) wherever you want. Essentially, two taskbars.

if you want something to change your desktop pictures go to google and search for 'wallpaper changer'

Naw, I'm not a mac enthusiast. I just have to work on one at work, and every single feature is there. Personally, I find the alpha shadows and no borders very annoying, so I turned them off, lol. I was just mentioning an alternative.
