About the icon overlap issue:

On most startups, the icons are already overlapping by default. Occasionally they automatically arrange themselves into a clean, tidy layout. This problem has been really bothering me — please help me resolve it.

Hi VIP, which version are you using? Did this start occurring recently?

If it started occurring recently, and if using "Fix desktop icon spacing" does not fix, can you go to About → Troubleshooting, enable advanced logging, reboot, reproduce the problem, and then use "Create error package" from the Troubleshooting menu to send us a report?
