what does Artifact slider mean

in new Horizons update v1.6, there is a slider for artifacts. As I assume based on the description "artifacts per player" moving the slider to say 16, means that there will be aboutn 16 artifacts that can be found per player. However, ive played 2 10 hour sessions with 10 players and NO crazy drops.

I then assumed that once past 10 artifacts, the slider goes red. But why allow a range of 0-99 if after 10 its obsolete. I played a session with 10 players with the slider set to 10, and the drop rate was lackluster like before.

Does the slider represent number of artifacts per player or PERCENTAGE of drop rate per player??

Actually, is there a readme for what those settings on the creator tool are?

I think the slider just controls how many artifact opportunities spawn across the galaxy. Then RNG still decides if you actually get something good. That's how it felt in my games anyway.

Btw, I don't trust the wording on a lot of strategy game sliders anymore lol. Half the time it's some hidden formula nobody explains anywhere.

Hi. Excuse me. My English is not my native language. So the translation may be crooked or not accurate. Don't get hung up on words. Read everything. Catch the meaning. And then you won't be afraid of translation errors. And you will understand the essence of this text.

I have a slider for only 10, not 99. 1.6 version.

At the same time, when creating 100 planets for 10 players, there were always 10 or more artifacts. Up to 12. This is the maximum number of artifacts in the game at all.  Artifacts are not duplicated. If a system with a large number of planets is created. That's for some reason out of 10 generations on 500 planets. There were 10 artifacts in 8 Generations. And only 2 cards appeared for 12 artifacts. And when he created 300 planets. One of the 4 times. There were 12 artifacts only once. There were 8 artifacts once. There are only 7 artifacts once. And 1 time 10 artifacts. Everything was checked manually before the game started. Every planet. I'll be honest. I've spent more than 20 hours researching. It's exhausting. And then I made the Artifacts stronger. So that they are definitely artifacts, not random trinkets. As well as bonuses For planets. Increased their frequency when creating a new game. I also increased the number of Alternate and Oceanic planets during creation. Now, 1\5 of the oceanic and terrestrial planets fall on any star. In vanilla, these planets account for 1\50 Asteroids, and empty planets have been reduced from 100 to 5 per system.  Pirates are certainly tough. But they need to be corrected. And hide the freebies from the pirates. As if there are 100 pirates on the map. You know that. That everyone can take a prize for influence points at the 3rd level of the agreement with the faction.  So those 900 planets, 10 stars, and 10 players don't take 150-200 hours to play as before. And it's been reduced to 10-20 hours per session. Since playing in speed 1 mode becomes enjoyable. And you're not speeding up time. This significantly makes the game an interesting and dynamic process, which is also shortened so much in time.  Which suits me fine.  Because I'm an adult. And playing one session in the evenings for several months for an hour a day doesn't suit me at all.

Here is a list of Artifacts that are in the game.  But my stats are up.  I've never seen a single artifact from AI, either on planets or in rocks. To be honest. I only found out about the artifacts a couple of days ago. When I was poking through the game files for planetary bonuses.  It turned out that the Bonuses were made exclusively for the latest game, as well as Artifacts. But at the same time, the Artifacts were just as weak and insignificant. Well, maybe on Titan. But by the time the Titan appears. The game is already moving into the stage of your dominance. I already have the maximum Fleet. Capital ships have already been upgraded to level 10-17, thanks to the pirates. After all, you can't get out of the system. And pirates are making constant raids. There is also no balance of technology in the game. And there are several technologies missing that correspond specifically to the 5th level of research.

weapon symbiote - ship artifact

power core relic - ship artifact

 research archive - planet component

resilient metaloids - ship artifact

exoforce_matrix - planet component

kinetic_intensifier- ship artifact

universal_terrarium - planet component

tachyon_comms - planet component

relativistic_factories - planet component

mass_negation_core- ship artifact

matter_compressor - planet component

I will not write down the figures of the artifacts. I'll just say that I changed them. And if you find them. They really strengthen the player and give him a serious advantage. And if so. The player has the opportunity to play against 4-6 Bots in an alliance at once. And by the way, successfully resist them. But there is also a downside to the coin. If the Bot finds such an artifact. Then the player will have a very hard time.

And there are really useless artifacts. And the developer needs to deal with them specifically. Since some Artifacts are not installed on Ships, while others are not installed on planets. One of those artifacts that are installed on Ships. There are artifacts designed only for super ships and Titans.

In general, I have enhanced the artifacts and bonuses of the planets also in order to play against the Union of Bots from 3 and more. Because it turned out That Bots play excellently in the union. And not everyone is against each other. Then they become an incredibly dynamic, formidable force, and when you play everything against everyone. They're kind of sluggish. Some people send you a diplomatic union. But for some reason, the Bots don't connect to each other. I don't know why. But that's too bad. And of course, the conditions are mandatory when generating. For example, I always set the maximum number of pirates to the maximum. the maximum number of Fractions.

So yes. In the game, I increased the number of Good Planets by 10 times. Thereby reducing Asteroids and Other planets by 10 times. Increased all artifact parameters. So, for example, I changed the Bonus for the number of fleets from 200 to 1000. The Terrarium artifact has made it add 1,000 population. Not 100.

Well, and a number of other artifacts. I consider two artifacts in the game to be useless. Artifacts, as well as bonuses, have increased their appearance on all planets. And not every artifact has its own type of planets and the conditions of their appearance on the planet. That's why these things work for me, and besides, some of the bonuses and one artifact are blocked by the developers. I've unblocked them.  So you will have a maximum of only 10 artifacts in the game. And 8 bonuses less than it is in the game. In addition, the bonuses have become interesting to combine. So for example, I have an income from an asteroid of 10 coins per second. But at the same time, building on the planet is 52% more expensive. And the construction time has also been increased by 90%.  Well, and a number of other bonuses. Added a Population Bonus of 1,000 to Earth-like planets.  Friends in general. To be honest, the game is a bit raw. I expected more. And I can't stand games and movies with a slow and long process and plot. Which takes up the little time you have left at the end of the day after work.
