I want to know something: Do you find it easy to navigate my website?

I have been working on my website for a while now and have stories on it on stuff I find interesting on the net and speak on subjects that are of interest to me.

A few people have told me that it is confusing to get around maybe because I haven't truly uploaded everything or its just confusing regardless of what I upload.

Anyway, i am trying to get it ready by Thursday and I have a couple of news stories i have been working on for my site and here but I would like to have people not be so lost when or if they come to my site to look for stuff.

Anyway, here it is:
http://www.joetheblow.com

It sort of embarrassing because I have been trying to do everything on my site to the fullest but I always fall short of my goal...

Anyway, give me your opinion... I plan on updating the GUI and changing the URL to Joe knowledge (because it will be a knowledge base of information for the public to look at)

It's very easy to navigate there, but my suggestion would be to align that middle piece togeather with the left one.. because there's some empty space between left "piece" and middle one. But those are just my thoughts.. )

Umm, its a cool site, but I do find it a little confusing. I think its because when I clicked on a button at the top of the screen, I didnt know where to look for the other options once I got to that part of the site. I think a little more obvious navigation box on the left would be a bonus. It also just seems to...ummm...."done-in-Paint" if you know what I mean. I hope the GUI will be a little better in the upgrade.

Thanks guys. I am using your suggestions. I think I will change the design or at least give people an option to have a different interface.

Joe, if this is something you designed yourself, you might want to have an experienced friend design the next version, either that or go to one of those free template sites and pick something from there.

I'll probably do that. I don't think I will have time to do what i really want to do.

If I weren't so busy with other projects and schoolwork, I'd volunteer to do it myself.

Haha thanks Aqua. I myself am to busy with projects and school and a job.

But I feel what I am doing with my website is important so I have to find time to do it. Trying to create a knowledge base is hard work. Plus I want other people to be able to understand it a read it for their own betterment.

I just want to give back... especially to the people of this site.

I am using Brinkster and its 15 a month I think. They give more transfer per month then I will use, but not as much as other places give. I would shop around. for me, brinkster gives me what I need for this site.

I think your site looks fine Joe. Two things I personally would change though. 1) I would have a navigation down button somewhere that's always visible on your page for easy navigation. Either placed in a frame at the top of the page with your pages loading below...Or...just placed to the the left side. On my own website I have a down at the top of every page. 2) I would slow down the change over on your "Artist Spotlight"...it changes to fast to read anything completely and people tend to just move on when they can read it.

And I kinda agree with Ugoin↓ as far as graphics. Not alot, but a little would spruce it up a bit and make more appealing to the eye.

Other than that my opinion is it looks fine for what it's worth. And if you need some preset downs that you only need to the page addresses in I'd be glad to send you severl to choose from. Just email me and let me know.

How much space does your site take up and how much bandwidth do you use every month? I know of a few excellent servers that offer massive amounts of both for quite a bit less than you're paying.

I really liked your site and it was easy to find everything I thought it looked pretty good...Is this site for everyone or just skinner's?
