[bug] strike craft not being rebuilt

Reproduction steps:

- Load save (or start a new game with advent halcyon carrier and play for a while)

- Zoom in on main fleet

- notice there are 5/24 fighters built for the carrier in the gravity well

 

Expected behavior:

- carrier should be showing 5/24 fighters on the tooltip

- carrier should start building missing fighters

 

Actual behavior:

- carrier shows 24/24 fighters

- carrier is not building missing fighters

 

Other notes:

- exact root cause not clear

- [updated 2024-09-23] strike craft is apparently built, but not launched automatically (even if engaged to enemy)

 

Workaround:

Remove all squadrons and re-add them

[updated 2024-09-23] click on "launch" button to launch built strike craft into the gravity well

I noticed an additional detail regarding the issue

 

The strike craft is actually built, but not launched, pressing the launch button releases the strike craft into the gravity well (see screenshot)

so the bug seems to be rather "strike craft is not automatically launched after being rebuilt"

 

i.e. the simpler workaround is to click "launch" for the whole fleet now and then, instead of having to re-build all strike craft (for benefit of anyone else encountering the issue)

 

it also seems to affect ships only, not starbases or static defenses, so I'm guessing it's related to how strike craft enters the hangar of the carrier during jumps

I also think it is an issue when jumping. I recall a while back cancelling a jump last second, and the entire fleets strike craft wouldn't relaunch to engage the enemies that just entered the gravity well.

 

Also the workaround has an issue, clicking 'launch' often recalls the strike craft back, rather than only just launching those stuck in the hangar.
