Being able to have a transparent background instead of white

Maybe a stupid question but here goes....

how can I make the background of something, for example, if i opened up "windows explorer" or "my computer", transparent so instead of a white background, i get my desktop. to see an example look at the SETI green theme for windowblinds.

thanks

yeah neither do i actually, now that i looked at it. but if ya look at the screen shot of it here on wincustomize.com, he has "My Computer" open and the background is the desktop.

must of editted it in a photo editor. It would be cool if that is actually possible.

It is possible with WindowFX.

thanks, but I can't seem to figure out how to, I've been playing with it for about 10 minutes and am confused

WindowsFX cannot do this. It makes the whole thing transparent, including the writing and the menu's, etc.. All I want is the background to go away.

Drop DavidK an e-mail and I'm sure he'll help out...https://www.wincustomize.com/index.asp?Cmd=about

...in the Wizop section

Where in the world is DavidK anyways? I haven't seen him in forever

xkape77, which version of WinFX are you using?

I haven't seen David in ages....maybe he found a real job . FX won't do what he wants to do in that he wants the whole background transparent.

....now pass the tea, please

if Linux can do it then so can windows

- there are somethings Linux can do that windows can't.

If you look at the screenshot and read what it says, it clearly says:
For explorer window transparency, download "TransTool" from http://go.to/WBStuff

I guess this should answer your question.

Forget that, it's not working. Maybe TransTools doesn't work with the latest WB...

What can Linux do that windows can't? I've used and programmed for both for years and have never found anything one can do that the other can't.

Peff - linux is more stable. it never crashes. unix based. windows crashes all the time.
