Hi,
I have played for aprox 2hrs and have to end it here for the evening, but just wanted to post my experience and I will be following the request to review the game as an alpha, so not paying attention to ship or structure images as they are probably not final form etc.
I had no issues starting the game and creating a map.
No glitches, crashes, observable bugs.
Able to zoom in and out, all images appeared as they should.
I would like to change the settings for the mouse if possible at some point in the nearish future if its an easy fix, if not no worries.
I think it took me about 40 minutes in total to feel comfortable with the UI, planet upgrade and research tree, i'm still learning it but feel confident I will get used to it.
It is very different, but contains enough of the original to feel recognisable, and a natural upgrade.
I can see what you intended with the individual research centre and research tree, scouts can see you have the centre but the enemy cannot tell what you have researched. I like that.
There is something I cant quite put my finger on though, maybe the way the tree is displayed? Im not sure, I will keep thinking about it. I get the feeling that the way the tree is displayed might make a difference, feel more natural?
I am loving the battles, seeing the cannons take out missiles, and the ones that get through the cannon fire hit the shields.... awesome.
The phase lanes, these are epic! Congratulations, I can see them being a right royal pain in the ass
I need to spend some more time playing to figure out some thoughts I have brewing, but first impressions are very good!
It is very clearly Sins 2, I recognise the original game, but there is clear advancement/progression and many changes that feel beneficial.
It all feels very smooth moving around the map, nothing feels clunky, the buttons all do what they are supposed to.
I feel there are going to be many changes ahead with layouts and finished graphics, but as far as I can see the engine and base game is a winner, the end result will be worthy of the original.
Thank you!
