Icon Packager in conjunction with Microangelo

I like dabbling with my windows a bit but I should probably have a little more savvy before doing to much. I am using Curso XP which I understand completely along with Iconpackager which I get by with but I am sure I am not using its full potential.

My main question is if Microangelo works in conjunction with Iconpackager or is it a program that does mostly the same thing as iconpackager?

As I read the description of Microangelo I think it gets into other areas of the desktop that I am not in tune with.

So with my limited abilities would Microangelo be a waste of money if I already have Iconpackager?

Thanks in advance

MicoAngelo is primarily an icon editor, but it does have other functions.  If all you need is an icon manager type app, IconPackager is plenty.

MicroAngelo has an icon manager included called On-Display or something like that. Does a good job, except that you can't apply a whole icon package at once like you do with IconPackager.

But if you need a good icon editor, IMO Axialis' Icon Workshop is better.

Iconworkshop is a better icon editor. I know a lot of people who make icons just use Photoshop or compatible program. There are many programs that can save files to the icon format.

I might be wrong, but I think Skinstudio 4 will have an icon editor integrated. That might be a way to go.
