DISLOYAL LEADERS and UNHAPPY COLONISTS

Two factions I've had this happen, the second I appoint a leader for a colony I get a -20 to that leader's loyalty.  Why you might ask...BECAUSE I HAVE TO MANAGE THINGS.  That's the reason given, I'm not kidding.   A leader gives orders, a leader tells people what to do, a leader is a 'MANAGER' that's their job so why would you lose their loyalty, why would you take such a HUGE HIT to loyalty for giving them a job to do what it is that they are trained to do?  What they spend all their lives training and studying to do?  It makes no sense and it hamstrings the player, it's a time sink because it cripples your new colonies and there is no quick remedy or solution so don't try to tell me buy them a gift because -20 is a big hit and a gift won't fix it.    When you have a disloyal leader eventually they rebel on you, if you execute them it costs you big time, it cripples your empire in the beginning of the game it also means if you install any leader with loyalty of less than 80, you're asking for trouble and a loyalty of 60 is borderline.  At 59 it's heading downhill.

Colonists unhappiness, these people are unhappy at the beginning of the game, it's like you have to have professional clowns to entertain them from cradle to the grave.  It's also a time sink with no easy remedy that doesn't take hours to solve.

both of these issues are killing the game right out of the gate. Before it's left the gate for good.

Why would you use low loyalty leaders for governors that just seems like a bad idea. You can put them into command ships, you can put them into factions, you can assign them as diplomats, and you can make them a minster. Or you could just not buy them.

a leader with a loyalty score of 80 takes a hit of -20 as soon as you appoint that leader to govern a colony.  Would you consider a leader with a loyalty score of 80 to be too low?  When you have that leader govern a colony it drops to 60.  When you have a leader governing a colony you can open it up and start constructing buildings, the sooner you can do this the stronger your empire gets and you don't really have the luxury of waiting because if you do the AI empires are pulling way ahead of you which could leave you far behind in terms of EVERYTHING in the game.  A leader with a loyalty score of 70....drops down to 50 due to that -20 penalty because they don't like to manage things.

Why would you use low loyalty leaders for governors?  Very good point I am glad we agree on that one.   It's stupid isn't it?  That's a rhetorical question.  It's not wise.  You would be building up a colony for a rebellious future enemy.

I started playing as the Altarians, the Terrans and the Terran Resistance used to be my favorite civs, but the Altarians are a happier race.  I don't know how the Terran Civs survive because they are so unhappy all the time, you can't make these people happy.  The Altarians are chill by comparison, just toss them some harmony crystals and they all get along just fine.  Not to mention one of their empathy policies actually raises it to 30 percent which I found to be an incredible relief after all the trouble I had playing as the Terrans and Terran resistance trying to keep these people happy enough to build up their colony.

Do NOT put disloyal leaders onto command ships. Learned that the hard way.

The other thing I learned is that core worlds take a -10% happiness hit when you fire their governor. Ouch!

I didn’t know command ships could flip. We’ll see how that goes I parked some 30 loyalty leaders in there this is good to know for the future.

Unfortunately, they nerfed "Leader Events" so things don't happen that much.  I've noticed it across the board, from governors praising/damning me, to diplomats not stealing funds or flipping planets.  I agree that it was too much at first, but they greatly overcompensated when they did such a big nerf.
