Error code: DataTooLarge

Hello.

I have a little problem and maybe you guys here can help me.

I tried to share my finished game on the arcade but every time i press on share i get the message: Upload failed! Error Code:DataTooLarge

If this helps it's an Adventure game with 9 levels and 4-5 Dungeons. I assume these are too many levels ?

Hey Rodney!

Sorry about that one - never thought we'd see that error, to be honest, but we're in the process of bringing down the game file size.

Unfortunately there's not much we can do for Alpha1a, but by the time Alpha 2 rolls around you should be good to go!

A Quick Update - 

We have code in that cuts the file size of our games by 1/4th (A 1m game dropped down to 250kb).

Can you find your game's XML file (located in Documents/My Games/The Video Game Machine/Generated Games) and let us know what the file size is?  I want to make sure your epic-sized adventure will still fit under the 20mb upload limit :)

Thanks for the quick response !

 

I found the game files and I can see 3 of them, each of them have 10.418kb

One is the main XML file the other three are autosave versions A and B.
