Resources how used???

Ok I can't find out a lot about some of the resources you collect during a game.

 I realize some which are mined are used for missiles, ship hulls and defenses but let's take one resource as an example..... Snuggler Colony I found out helps influence growth....I might get this on a specific colony or from a surveyor ship finding it. So if I have three of these does that mean my global influence is increased by 15%??? There are so many resources though I have no idea how they can be used although I have sometimes used them in trading which makes me wonder if I am giving a too good thing away!!

I can have a line of these resources at the top and I only know some of them...so any ideas where this info is kept?

Resources in Crusade are per colony not global like they were pre-crusade. Your resources on the top bar is you stockpile of resources. You use these for any number of things, starbase upgrades, promotions, improvement upgrade, weapons and probably a couple I have missed. Once used it is gone and you have to regenerate your stockpile. Information on said resouce can be found on the tooltip when your in the planet screen. (Hover over the resource)

 

Pre Crusade they all give a global 5% bonus, and yes it stacks. So do not trade them away if you can help it :)
