Multiplayer Bugs

Seen very little mention to the multitude of multiplayer bugs.

No ideology/colonization events on colonizing non-precursor planets

Some precursor planets not providing bonuses e.g. Thulium Moon, no Thulium

Crashes on game initialization and/or starting the game as a different civ than you selected

Desync issue if you end turn and have an idle ship, if you move the idle ship the game hangs in an endless loop, if you pass the game is fine

Some nonmultiplayer bugs

Snathi tech provides +1 to all mines instead of presumably +0.1

Multiplayer bugs? Ok...

We are playing with two players and 4-6 AIs. Before Crusade we had plenty of crashes. But now. Let's say every 10 rounds the game goes down. Either on my machine or on my buddies or on  both.  That means we have to restart everything multiple times an hour. We haven't found any system in the crashes yet. Sometimes peer disconnects, sometime host disconnects, sometimes just a crash.

One thing I found out is: If someone elses turn is active or the game is doing AIs NEVER EVER click Govern. 4 of 5 times it kicks us.

After one crash all players suddenly had 1000 units of each ressource. My buddy suddenly had tons of ships popping up at each planet.

Sunday night, we reached 4 hours without a crash on settings similar to yours.  That is the cleanest we have run since Crusade started.  It is getting better, and faster, too.  So. there is reason for hope.  They are working on it.  I certainly have no schedule to quote, but since I am not Stardock, you would have no reason to believe me, anyway.  :)

We play in a large galaxy now and abandoned the last savegame. Buddy wasn't able to invade a planet without crash anymore. Totally stuck.... Every 5 rounds a crash in addition.

Now in our new game we have similar problems since round... 70?  80? 90? It's a pity there is no area for bugs.

I envy you guys.   A friend and I can't even start up a multiplayer game - if he hosts,  I crash.   If I host,  he crashes.

This is with the 2.20 GOG version.   We've both re-installed and cleaned out data directories and stardock directory and followed all the steps on the support page..  no luck.

I have some hope we'll be able to play eventually.   :\

We have exactly the same problem. Bought the game two times to only play together and now it's not working :-(

You can try to open a multiplayer game, select the race your friend wants to play as an AI and start the game alone. Save before first turn and reload as multiplayer and have your friend join the game. and claim the race he wants to play. Seems to work for me and my brother.

The AI will rush stuff first turn but I think you can refund it.

regards

This is still an issue as of 2.32 - hosting a multiplayer game works fine but joining with a GOG version crashes.   Anyone else have the GOG version working multiplayer?   If so,  did you have to do anything to get it working?

I know functional multiplayer is a low priority,  and GOG is probably an equally low prority,  but.. bleah.
