Military Governors

I don't know if this has been discussed yet or if there's a mod for it - I don't spend much time in the forums.

I would like to see a new governor type that optimizes a planet that is located - or that you anticipate could be located - in a war zone. He top 3 foci would be Manufacturing, Planetary Defense, and Population Size & Growth.

I have played with this for the AI, it is possible, but you have to replace one of the default Governors.

I am asuming you want it for the Player?

That's correct.

But replacing one of the default governors? I don't understand why you'd have to do that, but if it's the only way, my vote would be to replace the wealth gov.

I seem to remember having custom governors in GalCiv II, where I could just choose my default start-up options for every planet. Perhaps the Devs would consider adding something like that in a future update. I miss having those options.

I recently went to the Nexus looking for mods and all they have there are ship models and one other category. Where do you find AI mods?

The AI Governors seem to be set in GalCiv3AIDefs.xml this time round. And with no available option to add commands into the xml's by editing the Schema's, replacing a Governor is the only option.

As to the player Governors its possible to add new ones. But again I think you would have to replace a default Governor since there is no way to add new UI elements to the game either. TBH I have not looked to see if just adding a new Governor updates the UI in game or not, I'll check in a bit.

EDIT:

Yup the UI auto updates if you add a new Governor, but I think it replaced the Balanced Governor in the UI screen?
