Illegible UI text

With the 1.6 update, almost all text has become nearly unreadable. It looks like a resolution mismatch sort of thing, but none of the options have changed on my end. Increasing the UI size makes it more readable but worse on the eyes, the garbled text merely gets larger.

Any idea how I can fix this? I can't play reading scrapcode.

Options, Graphics, UI Size.

For my monitor I had to set the UI to large initially. For some reason the patch reset it to small, which makes the text almost unreadable.

I use this one, 24 inch widescreen, if it helps anyone.

Large UI just makes the text larger, it still looks terrible. It's just easier to read due to feeling like a 6 inch screen touching my nose.

Sorry misread your initial post thought you had the same issue as me. Just checked though and oddly I had a higher res in game than my desktop, not seen that before. Is it like that for you at all resolutions?

Can you post a screenshot of what you are seeing?

I got it readable with large UI and lowering the resolution to far below my native, but now it feels like playing on a phone with how large a lot of the UI components are.

This is it moderately borked. http://i.imgur.com/IvNUBii.jpg

Exelsis,

If you go to the windows control panel and look under display, do you have any scaling set?  Here's my panel in windows 8:

If I set my desktop scale to "medium" I see something similar to your screen shot.  My recommended setting of "smaller" looks fine.  Alternately, you can display the scaling just for galciv3:

Re-enabling scaling with high DPI under the compatability tab seems to have fixed it.
