DISABLE TECH SPECIALIZATIONS

Since I dislike specializations and I don't play the game since they were enforced I'd like to create a mod to disable them. I have tried to alter tech trees but the game crashed. Although I have some experience with mods I can't make it work.

Can someone give directions how to disable tech specializations?

Or even better is there already a mod for this?

There is no mod for it, and nobody would be interested in making one. It would be extremely tedious and remove any variation in tech you can use. It would be like asking to remove the ideology system.

If you really want to waste 6 hours boring up your game, delete every single specialization in whatever your tech tree is, and change the prereq of the next techs to the prereq of the previous specialization you've removed.

You are absolutely wrong that nobody would want to disable specializations. It was a huge negative talking point when they enabled them during the beta.
