Frogboy, you stated there would be no beta test because you can't EA a DLC, but couldn't you do a faux EA by just doing what you've been doing with DLC and giving it to Elite Founders automatically and then just putting it up for sale when the release date comes along?  I'm sure I've seen companies put up pre-purchase free DLC up for sale well after launch on Steam, I'm assuming this wouldn't be any different from that.

SMAC did  exceptional job with tech voiceovers etc. As a physicist myself, 99% of them were plausible and based on real life things that may one day occur. It really increased the immersion. The secret project movies were amazing too. Right now i feel like galciv lacks that depth of content and it hurts immersion. It's one of the things that made SMAC great.

@frogboy - you have my email on file. Reach out - I work for a business that may be able to help you crowdsource is stuff really easily, cheaply and with great results. And it would add loads to the immersion aspect.

My current game on 1.5 is awesome - keep it up.

Thanks!  And I think you're right.  I may indeed contact you on that front.

You nailed it.

The Elite founders will get the DLC in its beta form.

We're going to need their help too.  There's a ton of balance to be done. It's a feature that is both obvious and yet one we have never done before.

We like the underlying concept so much that we are talking to Ironclad about doing a SIns expansion with something similar.

Holy smokes, I thought Sins 32-bit engine couldn't handle anything else?

That is correct. the 32-bit engine can't handle anything else. But modders really do need more mmeory to work with..

Let us know.  I am sure you will get an interesting range of participation.  Some of us, possibly many of us, are here for the long haul and all this development chaos is just part of the expected fun.  The way I look at it, I have gotten to play 4 or 5 different games so far, all under the same title, what with changes both broad and subtle.  It's like when we used to make up new rules for Monopoly as kids.  Or later in life with D&D and modding and all of that.  It's all good stuff.  This is gaming as it should be!
