Stuck on "wait"

I read this thread, which for some reason is locked even though the problem is not entirely fixed - at least my 1.42 game seems to run into precisely the same thing. It's running the plain GOG version, no mods or anything.

Savegame. It will lock up on turn 137.

Shaw, as you report that you successfully run past the trouble turn, my guess would be that you have actually already fixed the problem as part of fixing the similar reports here, but that you did so after the branching to the GOG version happened, and then it wasn't ported to the GOG version yet. You may possibly find a quick fix by looking into what was done in the Steam branch at that point.
