Can GalCiv2's editors be repurposed for GalCiv 3?

I have no idea what the code for it is like, but from a cursory glance I think it could be repurposed for use with Gal Civ 3 tech trees at least. Not sure about modules though.

Paul keeps promising a release of tools/editors, just needs to find the time

There are some things it'd be cool to have an editor for, but honestly I don't want an editor for everything. For example shipsets. At the moment it's restricted to inspired people who know what they're doing, but if everyone can do it then nobody is special, and we end up with lower quality, more numerous mods. Stuff like "petite spacegurl ships v1"selectable from a drop-down menu.  

But making a tech tree is hard, so maybe that. Either way, we'll see if there'll be an XML maker DLC for a few quid/dollars.
