Elerium Beam?

We have a Prototype Durantium driver and a Durantium Driver. We have a Prototype Antimatter Missile and an Antimatter missile. Why is there no Elerium Beam? Would be nice to see it implemented as soon as possible.

No there isnt. I think you are mistaken. Ive even used Console "Unlock"-command to check it out and the "Elerium Beam" isnt where it should be (that is, right under Prototype Elerium Beam in the weapons menu).

Oh, I see what you mean now. Thought you were referring to the prototype version not existing  as well :)

 

tbh, I'd quite like to see advanced versions of all of them - not just prototype and actual, but 'prototype -', 'normal -', 'advanced -' and ''ultimate -' versions. Think I'll mod those in tbh.

  The "Prototype Elerium Beam" appears along with the other two Prototype weapons under Weapons Systems, but unlike the others, there's no non-Prototype version later. Following the pattern of the other two, it should appear as one of the components unlocked by Beam Weapon Augmentation, but it isn't there. I don't remember it ever being there, though maybe it was during one of the early beta builds.

 

  It's a little less noticeable for its absence mainly because elerium tends to be pretty rare.

There is none Elerium beam because beams are the first weapon you get and if you carefully look at the entire line, beams are the most balanced and at Doom Ray the most powerful. 

 

Back in Alpha through Beta, beams were the best weapon hands down. With the addition of proto type weapons and more balancing the other weapons came online. Beams have a great accuracy and great range. 

 

I think the choice was made to give other weapon types proto/resource status as that encourages diversity to weapon load-outs.

I also feel that the elerium beam should be put into the game...as the prototype elerium beam.  That thing is overpowered for being one of the first weapons you unlock, whereas it then never upgrades and annoys those of us gamers who are pedantic.
