Wobbly Window Bug Still Present on Windows 10

Windows still disappear when being moved when Wobbly windows is enabled, and a window is moved. There are a few windows that don't disappear (like the Object Desktop Manager), but most do.

I have also noticed these problems:

  • Window flip will cause a window to complete disappear, and text to be printed on top of whatever is behind the window.
  • Other animations (Window, Menus, and Start menu) seem to occur with the object completely transparent during the animation. Menus appear after a brief delay, and windows disappear immediately with not animation. The only scheme that works completely is "Default OS Animations."
  • Docked window edges sometimes are not flush with screen edges and other docked windows. Exceptions are that maximized windows, and windows expanded to the top and bottom screen edges by dragging the top edge to the top of the screen have perfectly flushed edges where appropriate.

Check different skins, if you're running WindowBlinds because some skins have "invisible" blank area around the windows, especially for window frames that aren't completely straight on the vertical edges.

I too have noticed the animation effects not working on Windows 10.

There are a few that do work but on the most part animations just fail to display.

These are the ones I found to work in the Open Window section:

  • Default obviously works!
  • Basic fade in.
  • Expand from left/right.
  • Expand.
  • Swipe from left/right.
  • Shrink from screen.
  • Slide from top/bottom/left/right.

Curiously none of the other expand versions other than those listed here work!

The same opposing close animations work also as well as the same animations for minimize/restore.

None of the menu animations work (normal or start menus), just cause a delay (duration of the animation effect) before the menu is displayed.

And as in the OP, none of the movement animations work.

These are my hardware specs and relevant software versions:

CPU: AMD FX 9590 x8 Core (under-running at 4GHz. Should be 4.7GHz but although my m-board BIOS shows 4.7 the OS shows 4!)

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 w/ 4GB GDDR5 RAM.

RAM: 24GB DDR3 1333 (For some reason the m-board does not like my 1666 RAM boards running at 1666! Time to save for a new m-board!)

OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

WindowFX Version 5.15

I am going to try the WindowFX 6 beta and see how well that works. Will come back and post if it works better than 5 :)

*EDIT* The same problem persists on WindowFX 6 beta :(

This is still an issue for me too - dragging a window makes it disappear altogether.

It was okay initially, and seems to happen after sleeping the laptop. A reboot seems to clear the issue until I sleep it again?

Do you have Show Window Contents on While Dragging checked?

I have the same issue and opening the WindowFX window, moving the toggle to Off and then back to On solves it for me.

I can't say it's too fun having to do this 2-3 times per day though.

Is it always after sleeping the computer?

I haven't tested it that fully TBH - however, it seemed to be "sleeping" the lappy that was the trigger for me.

Using a desktop computer, and I also have the same issue with the window disappearing during re-sizing or moving when using wobbly window.

I have the issue intermittently, and my PC never sleeps, it's either on, or off.

Also, when I slide the switch to off, my whole screen(s) go black, then come back. Like a quick explorer crash.

Nah no need, just randomly with usage of Windows.
