Zoom Out - Crashes Every Time

Please Fix

My Specs:

Intel i7-5960X @ 3GHZ 2.8GHZ

16GB Ram

64 bit

Dual SLI Geforce GTX 980s

Dell U3415W (MDP) at 3440 x 1440

Asus Deluxe X-99 Motherboard

Any attempt at any time to zoom out blows up the game and my joy meter.   It drops me back to the desktop.  Has been doing this since I first signed on over a month ago.  I did not post, because I assumed that the same thing was probably happening to tons of people.  So, it would be fixed soon.   But, still a problem.  Please fix.

That aside.  A big thanks to Stardock for going after this epic game.   RTS has been going down hill.   We need a savior!   The last epic release was Supreme Commander before the Gas Powered guys moved on to online nerd games. (May they RIP)

Guys, hands down the best RTS ever made was Supreme Commander.  But, it lacked the AWESOME zoom out LARGE SCALE WAR ability of SOSE.  Star Craft sucks because it is like playing a board game looking through a pair of binoculars.   We NEED and CRAVE big theater games.   Please give it to us.   Sins of a Solar empire is the best large scale RTS space war game ever made.  No doubt about it.   I instantly lit up when I read that Stardock was making a land based RTS because your Sins of a Solar Empire physics were SO tight.  The zoom out feature is mind blowing.  Changes everything.  It gives the commander full control of a global large scale battle.   Anything else is SO 80's now.   Please give us BIG scale war.  Please give us large scale control.  Please give us SOSE zooming in Ashes to make this the most epic game ever to hit the market.   Also, PLEASE PLEASE do NOT add the Jar Jar Binks flavor to the game like when they ruined Empire Earth trying to appeal to snickering pre-pubesent 12 year olds.  Please we BEG of you, can we make this a hairy chested MAN game with BIG explosions and violent game play.   We implore, we beg, we offer free Mt. Dew.   Think Crisis meets Men of Honor meets Sins of a Solar Empire on dirt with massive scale, 4k level imagery replacing Supreme Commander on the throne of the baddest RTS game ever made.  Explosions that rumble the house.  Eye popping imagery and strategic multiplayer game play.   Then you see our dream.  Our credit cards would spring into action with Ninja like speed, accuracy, and repetition.   Hail Star Dock.  I leave you in peace.

I might have misssed this but was this the DirectX 11 version or the mantle version?

Windows 8.1 64bit DirectX 11.

I did not try to run the mantle version because I thought that was for AMD Cards.

However, I will be upgrading to Windows 10 soon.  Do you think Direct X12 will solve my problem?

Thank you.

But, I tried SLI off.   Same result.   For some reason, I seem to be getting farther now though.   I can play for about 5 to 6 minutes. (SLI on/off)   Then the game explodes and drops me back to the desktop.   Kind of bummed right now.  Will wait for future releases.  I'm sure it will get better.

I have a brand new top of the line PC with the new x99 standard board and latest Intel chip.

Intel Core i7-5960X @ 3GHZ 2.8GHZ and 16GB

So, a little surprised that it doesn't just work.   I will try again in a couple weeks.

I think I have an idea.

Check your CPU temperature when you do this. Make sure it's not overheating.

My machine is liquid cooled with backup fans that kick on when the temp starts rising.   So, I do not think it is that.   Especially since the game will not play long enough to heat anything up.   Dies in the first few minutes.

Is there maybe a debug tool where I can dump settings, crash codes, and that sort of thing?   Submit to development?

I guess it goes without saying, but did you upgrade your drivers? ;)

There should be a crash report tool that uploads it automatically. We've got alot of changes and fixes so in the next few weeks maybe this issue is fixed.

I hike my pants high and upgrade my drivers every day at 2pm.   Just before cheese and cracker break.
