Problem creating a new race

I am working on another race, my 3rd, and the portrait does not show in the game at either the start screen or the diplomatic screens. I have not encountered this problem before, and have tried using portraits from other races I have made, and they also do not show on this one. They do show fine when making or editing the race. Anyone encountered this before?

Sometimes I have downloaded other peoples custom races where they have positioned the leader in the leader foreground image, either to the left or the right. Then with the start and diplomatic screen all you get is the edge of the leader. Is your leader positioned in center or too one side of the foreground image?

The portrait is not used for the start screen or the diplomatic screen. It uses the foreground image. This image must be positioned correctly (basically centered) to work right.

This might be the problem or maybe it's something else. Post a screen shot if you can.
