Yor Tech Bug?

So I'm playing as the Yor, tech tree and all, cycling through my colonies managing them and I come across this matrix with an adjacency bonus! It has that big yellow 6 on it when I select it and an additional 30% to the colonies tech, mfg, and finance. I wondered how I got so late in a game without noticing such a huge thing. None of my other matrices had this adjacency bonus so it took some head scratching to figure out what triggers it. Turns out it's the +Population modifier from other races farms and hospitals, the one thing Yor can't build. I just so happened to have conquered that colony from another race and they had a building with with +mfg and +pop so I kept it and set my matrix next to it for the +mfg. 

So it's pretty tricky to obtain this bonus and it's so huge I doubt it was intended. The two other methods to get it are to build your matrix on a tile that gives a +pop bonus (jackpot!) or build your matrix next to your capitol which gives an adjacency bonus to everything under the sun including pop, Not sure how viable the last method is especially late game when your matrix gives a whopping +5 adj bonus to tech, mfg and finance, doesn't seem worth it to use up a precious spot next to it for a mere +5%.

Any thoughts?

IIRC the power matrix gives 4-6 (depending on tech specialization) adjacency bonuses to each adjacent mfg, tech, or wealth building.  Furthermore, those adjacent mfg/tech/wealth buildings will give 1 bonus to each other on top of providing +10% to +50% base mfg/tech/wealth.

On the other hand, those other race population buildings are worthless except for that incidental +30%/+30%/+30%.

Thus, if you specialize your planets, it is better to surround your matrix with buildings of that specialty than to have 1-2 dead zones.

If you don't specialize your planets, then you aren't minmaxing.  Just enjoy the game!
