[OS X] UI extremely slow/laggy while game window smooth as butter.

I wonder if you run your UI in a separate low-priority thread or something. The game runs really well on my potato, but for some reason the UI is quite unusable. Most noticeably, the mouse-hover icons and the pop-ups are completely lagged. Sometimes they'll appear at the wrong place and then move where they are supposed to be. It's really hard to play :(

I would screen cap, but my toaster can't take it.

We're working on a new solution for the in-game UI that should be much faster than our current version. It will probably be another few betas away. (Probably in beta 5.)

Thanks!

Allright, good to know you are aware of the issue. Do you think bringing down resolution may help? Im currently running everything at low. All that is left is resolution.

You can try it, but I doubt it'll do much. Sorry.

I have also this problem on PC, UI performance is terrible. I don't remember my full system specs, but is something like: Windows8, GTX960, I7 CPU, 8GB ram.

Game working very smooth, probadly stable 100 FPS, but when i use some UI options performance drops (research/patents/upgrades/hacker are worst)

Just want to +2 this, on PC. Me and my friend both experience a sluggish UI. We've been playing around with settings to no avail.

We can see there's a separate process for UI which seems to take up a massive amount of processing time.

With other games built in the Unity engine, namely Rust and Starbound, there's been an issue where the text is being rendered using a ridiculously high number of polygons. Is it possible that this is affecting Offworld?

I don't have very bad performance on my UI, but it does seem like the UI should have a higher framerate than the 3d graphics of the game itself, which it doesn't while playing. The UI is perfectly fast in the lobby and menus but it is a little slow. There is always a ~100ms delay between click and effect when buying/selling resources in single player for example.
