Mining?

i seem to recall that to mine the asteroids a starbase with a mining ring needs to be constructed hear them? what tech is required for the mining ring? I thought I had it but the option for mining ring not there.

There's no mining of asteroids yet, unless there's a resource like durantium in them.

What Publius of NV said. The mining ring is available if any mineable resource is within the AoE of the starbase. Asteroids can potentially have Durantium in them. Displayed by a red icon if you zoom out to the strategic(icon) view.
