Why do I get 7 technologies right from the beginning? Bug?

Hi,

I created a custom race (with some benefits in research). At the start of the game I chose a technology and press "done". But the research window does not close. It asks me for a further research and again and again. After chosing 7 technologies the window finally closed.

What is the reason for that behaviour? A bug?

What are your race traits ? There are some that give free techs at the start

If you took one of the thalian traits that grants free tech, that's why.

You started with the Intuitive ability.

Yes, I have the Intuitive ability, but that should me give ONE free tech, not SEVEN.

Or do I misunderstand something?

You misunderstood something. 150 is a lot of research in the early game.

The Thalians (which have the trait) are bugs from the future. They are suppose to be very advanced, which is why they have that ability. Abilites are supposed to be powerful.
