Crash Error

I tried to play the Iridium Corporation after V.42 but my game would crash to desktop with a error. The error message is only up for a split second and all I remember is seeing a runtime error. After a few games of trying I pinpointed the cause of the crash. While playing the Iridium Corporation(and only them) any time you try to create a starbase a CTD occurs. I was wondering if any one else is having this issue? Or maybe know a fix. I am unbeatable while playing the other good races and wanted to try a new race. I guess I have to play an Evil one for a bit until a fix.

I just saw this same error, a crash when creating a starbase as Iridium Corporation.  The debug.err says that a crash report was uploaded to Steam.

And yet I have been told repeatedly that SteamWorks doesn't handle crash reporting for 64bit games (I guess it is still in the works). The only way to get a crash report to the Devs is described in "GalCiv III Support FAQ".

I went ahead and opened a ticket for the problem, and sent them my crash dump, debug.err, etc

I just fixed and then had a small hot patch pushed to resolve this issue. :)

When I started Steam I noticed a small update being applied to GC3, was that this patch?  Does it require a new game?  Because if it was the patch, and if it didn't require a new game, it didn't work - I loaded up my last save and still got the crash when I tried to construct the starbase.

What happens when you update to the latest version and start a fresh new game?

If I start a new game, I can build the starbase successfully.  So the fix works, I should have just abandoned my old game.
