Couple problems

Just recently joined. I've played both GC and CGII, loved them both and I am liking what I see for GCIII but having a couple issues atm. 

First issue is game is now crashing every time I hit Turn. Currently on TODO (date) 897 and researching Hyperfield disruption. This is something that just started. I went back to a previous save that was about 3 turns before and I get one more turn in and then it crashes to desktop. no error message. (note just closed again and a very short error message did pop up but couldn't see what it was. only there for a split second. )

Also another problem I'm having is that I cannot save my ship designs that I make with the shipyard designer. I see a thread up there and I see pictures of other ships people have designed. however mine never save. 

anyone else having this problem?
