I have disappointment.

Each time as I visit the wincustomize.com I hope to find a subject with animation of a desktop and each time I have disappointment. Why there are no offers which would develop desktop animation?
We watch movies about our future,we are  surprised perfect animation and graphics of future computers created by Holywood but we don't do anything  to approach this future.
Why we can not propose something?

I trust that there are talented animators not only in Holywood and don't understand why there are no their works on a site.

What do you think of it?

Yours faithfully. Kostiantyn S.

What type of animations are you talking about?

The type of animation doesn't matter, its existence is important.

I see many animations for desktop and DX is the best to create it and we lost IT.

I mean we lost the good tool for animation.

-see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nU8cFhjRVbw

it's video from 2009!!!!!Today-2014!!!!!!!!

Without developing desktop animation a stardok probably makes a mistake which will be difficult to be corrected then.

That stuff can still be done. In DX. Some of us just aren't good with animation.

Deskscapes is pretty animated. Cursors are animated.

Some Windowblinds are also feature great animations.  One that comes to mind is Steampunk by k10w3

I guess Kostiantyn wants to have some sort of Stardock Animation Aid-tool / App for assisting in creating above mentioned animations... I think

Sorry, I not need tools.!!!!

I look for people working with animation of DX from which it is probably possible to learn  new things to re-fresh

ours desktops.

key, you lost me... you looking for people...

Edit:

You mean like Stardock Staff only working with DX animations ?

Yes,he wish have DesktopX stuff running while doing other works;in short terms -revived DesktopX.  To be honest, that kind of animations are so outdated and childish. Those extravagant animations you seen on the movies are done with much more sophisticated software such as 3D MAX,Adobe Effect........,and "unfortunately" most of themes were specifically designed for the designated film and just a showbiz;they couldn't have done anything that tangible in daily basis.

Stardock discontinued DesktopX  because users buying it has dwindled as Microsoft simultaneously ceased support/develop Desktop widget/gadget,so as Yahoo.  Not to mention, some of hackers use it as tunnel spreading iniquitous codes that compromised security.

Actually stardock staff stopped working with DX long time ago.

Blinds and Desktop windows and their movement remained same as long time ago.

I can not call it movement as animation.

I am looking people who find way to chenge it. I know only sViz. She is the best scripter for me.

But where are others?

Probably if such people was many stardok wouldn't close work with DX...

Honestly, there wasn't much interest in DesktopX any longer.  Widgets and gadgets were cool years ago, but they lost favor with most mainstream users a while ago.

It was absolutely a cool and advanced app, but there comes a point when it's no longer feasible to keep supporting something with a limited user base.

I'd cry, but that emoticon doesn't work. Something I hope gets fixed for WC 2014.

I'd say I concur with , at least in the concept I mean..

Don't get me wrong, deskcapes is nice, even if my first attempt at an animated file got me a nice bad result. I'll have to retry !

Windowblinds is also very nice but buggy and incomplete, but I'm still using it with my own skin. Desktop X was nice too, but outdated. Widgets were nice, too bad Yahoo fired yahoowidget, but I'm still using it with some 'just they need to do' widgets. Of course users's themes are a security risk but this can be processed by any decent software maker/users relation for a quality product.

Sure there is rainmeter, I'm still using samurize but hey, who REALLY needs that much of information some desktops shows ? Really ?? Anyway... I'm also still using a Windows98 software unchallenged today : pop mouse. Even if it gives me 1 or 2 errors with x64 applications I still find it unvaluable.

You could add some software for transparancy, to organize, display, etc.... But they're all in the Wind ! They're fragmented, innefficient, unfit for the task of adding a layer between the data and the user in the forthcoming it seems of Microsoft pulling the curtain on Windows 8...

Just one last exemple... Jobs trew a nice (I know I've used it a lot in this post, it was just to give space for what that HAS to come) piece of software for the time, OpenStep used on it's cube machine by Next. It used a file manager calle the workspacemanager displaying the tree file on the horizontal axis, each folder in its separate pane. This is still used in mac os x in the finder. Of course apple bought next.

But today, when everything tends to point out that if our perception, our vision is somewhat a circle, it is surely not a vertical rectangle : 16/9 or 16/10, in my case with a 30" monitor, is more suitable to display on an horizontal rectangle much more data, else why set 2 or 3 horizontal monitors for immersive worlds ?
