Can't play a game (in progress)

Am I missing something?

I'm probably just overlooking something, but I am unable to play a game. I played the tutorial game today and went on to play the "gathering crew" and lost the game (by 1 point, d'oh!) and then left the game. Tonight I went back in to play more and I click th play button and go to a screen with boxes on the right and the first box labeled "Gathering a crew" shows the words in progress and has a lock on it along with the next several blocks and can't seem to play a game at all. Am I missing something? There is only an option to play a 2 player game and that is all I see.

Alright, figured how to get it to play, but it must still be a bug of some sort.

To clarify the problem, the "Gather a crew" button was grayed out with a locked icon in the upper right and I could not click on it to go into a game. I am playing on an iPad 2 with iOS 7.0.2 installed.

To circumvent the problem, I went back to the main screen, clicked on Help, clicked "Play Tutorial" again, click "Play", then quit the match, went back to the main screen and clicked Play again. The "Gathering a Crew" was still grayed out for one second and then switched to a full-color button without the lock.

I didn't play at that time and have now come back to it to play and it is grayed out again. So I went through that whole procedure again and am now able to go into the first mission again and see if I can manage to beat Gunnie this time. :)

Thanks for the report. We already have a fix in place for the next update. In the meantime, your workaround (go to Help then play and quit the Tutorial) will work to circumvent the issue until the update is live. We apologize for the bug :)

I have the same issue and today's update did not fix it for me.  The issue 1st started when I did a restore from backup when I migrated from my iPhone 4s to the 5s.  I also lost all my progress when my data was restored and I had to start over. Deleting the app and reinstalling it has not helped either.
