Number Crunch

   I am new to the Sins game and have an old computer, onto which I have the sins original downloaded. 

I can see that the computing power of my old dell will not be enough to crunch the numbers required for the Rebellion game.

It just doesn't have the speed or the graphics interface (presently I have a dell laptop with an integrated radeon - like an x1200), and the game would not work on it at all.

I was wondering if anyone could share some insight as to what type of computer would be best for Rebellion?

Thanks, also-what kinds of resolution does the online game game work best with-thks.

Given the fact that SOASE only utilizes two cores, you basically don't need more than a dual core pc with a decent video card (of course equipped with the latest driver updates). The thing is, you want each core to have as much processing power as possible for the best experience.

For instance, a dual core pc @3.0Ghz would result in a better experience than a quad core pc @2.8Ghz...

I also back teun-aroonius & rovert10's comments as the engine NEEDS more Ghz and only ONE cpu core with FAST(the faster annd lower latency the better) RAM and a seperate video card(this it to free up the ram access that the onboard graphics GRAB (approx half the memory bandwidth)).

from my own testing of performance of sins relating to cpu ghz ram ghz the nett result is 3.5+ghz single core with low latency high ghz speed ram will give GOOD sins performance.
