Need more stettleable locations

Can someone tell me how to mod in more settling locations please. I'm tired of hitting CTRL N for 45 minutes.

Thanks in advance.

Check the list of mods in the sticky post in the LH Modding subforum.  90% there is already a mod available that does it.

45 mins? Are you looking for a 3 essence starter or something? Usually you can get a 4-3-2 or something similar after a couple of reloads at least, and that is a very good starting site.

It's pretty easy to get a 3/3/3 when you have high resources and magic.

Oh, ctrl+N starts a new game without returning to the main screen? How silly I was...

Personally, if you mod a single file and reduce the minimum distance between cities you get more settable locations. Also, you must choose a temperate map for more locations as well.

Check my recent post on the modding forum for a way to mod minimum distance between cities.

Or use Cartographer's Table to custom design maps.

I got tired of the default starting locations, so I've been making maps that start the way I want.

On the left hand side are the tools.

4th row (Object Tools) contains "Starting Locations" (5th button).

Select "Starting Point 1", then rt-click on the map where you want it.

Easy way to improve a given location: add "Elemental Shards" and "Resources" within a few tiles of it.

Life/Death Shard, Clay Pit, and Wild Grain/Fruit Grove, and you're good to go.

(after selecting the desired item, rt-click places it.)

Play each map a few times, then decide what want different next time.

E.g. remove some wildlands from SteamApps\common\FE Legendary Heroes\data\English\Core Stamps,

so can get a random map with specific wildlands (I like: Asag, Burning Lands, Curgen's Tomb).

Can also experiment with making a large Plain (Terrain Tools), and use Environment Tools (next to last button in Terrain Tools) to set grassland/fallen instead of barren.  Place a long river, and some forests. Save Map, then Load Map to see the new settleable areas.

(I usually restart the game engine before Load Map -- otherwise Cartographer's Table may crash on Load.)

Then can decide which settleable areas to keep, between them set to Barren Environment or make hills, mountains, water.

I sometimes add an extra path or two cutting through mountains, so that factions encounter each other on more direct paths.

I really can't imagine how to make LH more stettlable. It already resembles bucolic 18th century Poland aesthetically, and you also have the option to dress your units in dark fur hats and long, poorly-fitting black robes, and you can rename most of your cities to resemble ficticious stettles such as Pinsk. Perhaps there could be the option to mod in clarinets (gives all allies a +4 chance to light sabbath candles).

Umm ok.  Well in the meantime, we have bunny slippers and lollipops.
