One Of My Armies Is Gone

What did I do?

I had three primary armies, one with two heroes leading. This morning I was playing for awhile, picking away at Procipinee's defenses, when I realized my two-hero army was *nowhere*. Not sure what I did? Searching the forums I don't see anything that would indicate a bug. The army was epic, and I never auto-resolve ... maybe I accidentally auto-resolved some battle with another epic army, got wiped out, and didn't notice?

 

Anyone else experience this?

Happened to me, found it in a city. I think the army was automoving through the city and just didn't come out on the other side.

The army (usually) disappears from the list if you set it to "Guard."  Then it can become hidden behind a (2) if a stupid caravan goes there or something like that.  If the army were wiped out in an accidental auto-battle, the heroes at least would show up and be injured (they don't get eradicated).

When killed, heroes go into a city and are invisible. Click on your cities to see  if there are units inside (they are visible as small round icons in the city view on the left bottom of the screen).

Armies can also get unintentionally stationed in a city if they are right next to it, you click to build a new building in the city, and the city expands into the tile where the army is standing.

I've checked all the cities and the stack is just nowhere to be found. I've resigned myself to the fact that it was probably wiped out somehow. Ah well it's my first game and I'm playing on normal difficulty so I'm still kicking ass anyway!!
