"Do not darken when children get focus"

I'm having a problem with one of my windows always going "dark" with the WindowFX setting to darken them when inactive.
The main problem is when I have dual monitors active, I put a game on the second one to idle on, and the main window is usually Google Chrome, etc. When I'm active on Google Chrome, the game window darkens ... I've toggled the right click title bar >  Do not darken when children get focus but oblivious to the fact that's checked, it remains darkened.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

The game is not a child window of Chrome.

That setting is for when you have Chrome (or Photoshop) open and a new window opens (to browse or use a tool).

You cannot exclude an inactive window from being darkened.
