"WindowFX features" toggles back to OFF after 2-3 seconds

... on the Home tab of the WindowFX 5 Configuration screen

When I start the program it displays the Home tab of the Configuration screen. The "WindowFX features:" toggle button (left, middle of the screen) says OFF. I click it and it says ON but after a couple of seconds it comes back to OFF by itself. The "Desktop Window Manager (DWM) is enabled" message is displayed on the right side.

I have seen the same thing, and even though I had the message that DWM is enabled, I restart DWM and all is well.

That unfortunately doesn't work for me. Running Windows 8.1 64-bit, is there any way to access a log for WindowFX?

Actually I figured out the problem for those of you out there. The issue is that if your installation directory has changed, the Windows service associated w/ FX cannot run. So you have to either change the directory to the path that the service is looking for (you can figure out where by getting into the properties of that service), or you can use registry edit to change the directory that the service is looking for.
