Graphic Question.

So, I have a fine computer:

Core i7 3770 Quad-Core

8GB RAM

Video card is about 1 GB and 256 bits, its GTX 560 I think, I don't remember well.

BUT, when the battle get bigger, I have a graphic problem, because thats when the shots simply doesn't appear....I can see the damage is still done, but the shot animation isn't there, with Mods or without it it's the same problem. I'm talking about when some ship dies and there is no explosion, or when your ship is going to shot, the damage is dealt but you see no shots at all.

What can I do to see the shots animations when the battle gets bigger? Is it a bug?

Everything is fine before mid-late game =/

Shots doesn't appearing is strange, because I'm sure my computer can handle that on max graphics settings.

Waiting answers.

the cause is the limit of particles, and from what I remember it is either to reduce out of memory crashes OR prevent 30 second slideshow battles due to each of the particles positions and travel needing to be updated by the CPU(and only a SINGLE core is used by sins so haveing a multicore beast does not help (and from what I remember seeing in the threads the iron engine was developed BEFORE multicore headed to the mainstream of computing))

You can increase the particle limit at your own risk, in the rebellion.user.settings file.

So, basicaly, there's nothing I can do about it?

When the Core that is operating Sins can't download more things is exactly when the shots stop appearing right? So, even if I raise the particle limits, the Core won't download it anyways and a single Core is about 3.40~3.90 GHz (On my Core i7), don't forget I got 4 of them.I think this problem can be solved by making Sins executable by more cores, a multicore program, but it will be hard to do.

Well, ty for the answers, I guess I need to keep playing like this =/

As Goa pointed out, you can increase the particle count - you'll just need to balance it against performance.

Sorry for double post, but forget my last cause I opened it on .txt format.

So, could someone help me here? I see names I've never saw before. Like this:

MaxParticleCount 7200
MaxParticleSimulationsCount 2400
MaxAsteroidCount 10000
MaxDustCloudParticleCount 5000

Wich one do what? How to balance the number I will put with the computer performance?

Someone teach me that, remembering that I just want to see the shots when the battle gets bigger.

Thanks again.

MaxParticleCount 7200

Probably this one. Increasing it will allow more shots to be displayed, but those shots will take up memory, so if you increase it too much you might get decreased performance. Just depends on your PC and what kind of battles you're fighting.
