They say they are making this game without a publisher but with a yet to be announced big partner.

Could it be Epic games? They played a role in developing Age of Wonders, albeit small.

This is looking super-impressive, though I wonder how the AI will handle things, as Triumph has a bad reputation for AI.

If Triumph gets the AI down, this could be a genrebreaker.

Between this and Stardock's 2 upcoming offerings, and At the Gates- it's going to be a rough market for TBS games in the next 2 years, but good for fans of the genre.

Curious about the AI too, but it probably won't be as good as LH's. AoW:SM had pretty predictable AI. But the good thing about AoW3 is that it has multiplayer. I've played AoW:SM PBEM games for years after it was released. The community is about as good as the community here.

I can't deal with At the Gate's commodore 64 era graphics in 2013.

^Video is both German and English, and worth watching.

The game looks really amazing if you ask me!

They still have a couple of months until the release date. I can't wait!

I'm sure I've been more excited for a game before, but I cant remember it.

I hope it won't have Disciples 3 syndrome.

What's that syndrome? I've never played that game.

Either way, until we see the game, its going to be very hard to make any judgements on it.

These trailers are obviously to build hype. So far some not so successful games have done that too - like Rome 2 and SOTS 2. We need to see the final game before making an assessment at this point.

I am a little worried by the new class system, rather than the old race/magic path system. But they are allowing every race to use every class, which could be quite interesting. Also of note is that they are bringing back the old AoW 1 hero leveling system, which has the potential to be awesome.

I am also really looking forward to the game. The combination of race and class if a fantastic innovation. It reminds me of the board game Small World (pick a special ability and race).

I'm pretty excited about this game.  I worked with those guys a bit during the Impulse days, they're terrific.

It was very bad at start. Like Stalker, X-Rebirth, and hell if I know how many other. I stopped playing while waiting for patches, so I kinda don't know condition game currently in.

The final iteration, subtitled Reincarnation, is pretty good.

Maybe I'll give it a try then. Maybe. *sniff* If I get through my current backlog. :D

I never heard of this game before but after watching 2 videos and looking at some screenshots i can say that it looks like some kind of AMAZING Civ and HoMM3 hybrid 4x game. The thing that gets me most hard is the fact that i saw some HEXES (You hear that whoever made the last 2 HoMM games, you lazy office chimps?!!).

Also the fact that its not sci-fi and i like it, is a sign that this is an amazing game!

Omg I was playing Age of wonder II like... over 10 years ago? Damn I think I still have the original CD chucked in some binder somewhere. I should give it a retro Spin :p I nearly forgot about that game.

One of the thing I remember about AoW2 is how I liked to mass produce Swashbucklers with their shotguns they owned.

I just saw that you can pre-order the game on GoG.com.

pre-ordering the game gives you an unque extra dlc-scenario: Elven resurgence

I'm rather excited as well. It sounds like a real 4X masterpiece. I just wish they hired you to help with the AI. :)

Looks pretty sweet to me! Tech class/ Dwarven allies all the way.

I was excited when I first heard of the AoW3 announcement, but the available info and videos left me quite worried.

- Less races, less units per stack, more cramped tactical map (more and more HoMM-like).

- The class units and generic race units might make each race seems less unique.

- GUI.  On the main map, units are difficult to see and identify, even in the vid when the zoom level is about equivalent to 200% zoom in AoW:SM (hex size was very large in the vids).  Information indicators and buttons are all over the place (eg., when you click on a stack, I think it would be nicer to have the unit list pop up at the bottom of the screen, closer to the other info panels at the bottom).  On the tactical map, the camera perspective looks awkward to me.  Health bars are a bit difficult to see.  It seems to me that overall the new GUI makes it harder to you to get information and perform actions.

- Game mechanics.  flanking/guarding: it seems this would make it more difficult for the AI to handle, while not adding much to tactical finesses.  Neutrals that can grow: ok.  Otherwise, not much improvements it seems.

I wonder how the end product will turn out, but I am not holding that much hope at this time.

I'm a little more optimistic than you are Valpheus, but considering just how terrible I found AoW2 and SM to be I will have to wait on this one and see some lets plays or demos or something.

I've never been a fan of, shall we say, "land-based" TBS'. I prefer mine in space. This looks a little too... I don't know how to say it... Tried and true?
